Spread the love

In 2019 we launched our “My first book of Islamic Months” – A fold-out & lift-the-flap book, in the truly unique Shade 7 way. The book folds out to over a meter and displays the colourful sequence of the Islamic months, 6 months each side. Interactive flaps reveal little facts about each month and what makes it special.

We wanted to take you on a journey through each of these months and introduce the Islamic calendar to you and your families in a memorable way that would cement key lessons and inspire further learning.

We collaborated with Mama’s from all over the world who shared how they were using our little book for some big learning in their homes!

Thus, we brought you the Shade 7 – Islamic Months – Mama Blogger Book Tour  – where over 15 Mama Bloggers came together to share lesson plans, activity sheets, arts, crafts and so much more – https://www.instagram.com/p/B19cwnRgzQy/

For those that missed the tour, and all our new followers, fear not! You can still enjoy all the gems that we shared in this blog as we take you through the Islamic year 1441 (2019) with links to some of the best posts from each month! You can scroll up or down from the posts below to get inspired to begin this journey through the Islamic calendar for yourselves!

1. Muharram

We began the year with former primary school teacher and homeschooling mother of 2, @mamateachesme covering the sacred month of Muharram.

11. Dhul Qa’dah

To mark this sacred month @imanblogs shared a series of actions of reconnection where she created some practical prompts and exercises for her children. They did everything from reflecting on hadiths https://www.instagram.com/p/CCVtQ8Qj8um/ – Qur’an journaling – https://www.instagram.com/p/CCa9XKnD2S6/ to discussing reflections around nature, Allah swt’s creation and bonding over ice cream in the glorious sunshine! https://www.instagram.com/p/CC33_6KDDaj/

12. Dhul Hijjah

And last but by no means least, the year drew to a close with @withaspin_  where we enjoyed making pop-up cards for Dhul Hijjah and ready to celebrate Eid Al- Adha  https://www.instagram.com/p/CDCgmVQjz9J/
